Fifty Pence
Since decimalisation there have been a large number of different types of 50 pence pieces issued by the UK or dependencies. Strictly speaking coins of dependencies such as the Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey and St Helena or the Falklands are not legal tender in the UK but in practice they are usually accepted as payment along with other denominations from those countries. Extracting some of these oddities from change is not very common but it's not that unusual either. Nearly all of these coins I have just pulled from circulation but some of the Olympic themed ones I have had to obtain by trading just to complete the set and a couple of those from Gibraltar I got given as gifts.

Overall this collection was put together for face value plus a couple of gifts.

I hope this is useful and informative.
